Starsailor
Love Is Here

Like each year, the prolific English scene exports its latest harvest. While the crop does not always meet expectations, this time it's profitable since with Love is Here, the English band Starsailor offers an impeccable collection of well-crafted songs.

Melancholic ballads with sophisticated and light harmonies are on the menu of the freshman effort of this band tied to the Radiohead wave. Purified arrangements marry well with the mannered but lyrical voice of the singer. If the influence of Radiohead, Coldplay, Doves and Suede is obvious, Starsailor also owes to the likes of U2 and 80's bands Simple Minds and The Alarm. The force of the band lies in the beauty of sophisticated melodies that never yield to the facility of too catchy formulas. Personal and pained lyrics reinforce the range of this ensemble.

From the singles "Alcoholic", "Lullaby" and "Good Souls" to "Poor Misguided Fool" and "Fever" as well as "Way to Fall" and "Tie up my Hands", it is difficult not to quote the majority of the songs of the album for their tempting melodies.

One awaits the next season impatiently.
