MoLAA: Latin American Artists

Nestled between Los Angeles and Orange County, MoLAA is the only museum in the western U.S. exclusively dedicated to contemporary Latin American Art including works from artists such as Gonzalo Cienfuegos, Leonora Carrington, Wifredo Lam, Dario Escobar, Rafael Coronel..

OCMA: Contemporary Artists

If you should pass through Orange County and you’re suddenly struck by a need for culture, I can only warn of what awaits you at the OCMA that resembles a Russian cold war bunker. The museum is characterized by a most assorted collection composed of donations from its fabulously wealthy neighbors and conglomerates. The biggest problem here is that the lack of education in the fine arts lends itself to the steadfast belief that whatever is expensive must qualify as art.

LACMA: Van Gogh

Van Gogh: Van Goghs
Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Let yourself guide through the exhibit, the "Van Gogh" store and the annoying crowd.
What to remember from this collection of some of his masterpieces from the Van Gogh museum of Amsterdam.

Brassaï Getty: Brassaï

Brassaï: The Eye of Paris
Getty Center, Los Angeles

No, even if it disappoints the Baiser de l'hotel de ville poster afficionados, Robert Doisneau wasn’t the only one to photograph Paris. Georges Brassaï, once called The Eye of Paris by his friend, the American writer Arthur Miller, offered one of the most haunting and stigmatized series of photographs of the city of lights.

Weston LACMA: Weston

Edward Weston: Photography and Modernism
Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Only Weston could make a green pepper look sexy.
The current Edward Weston (1886-1958) exhibition at LACMA provides an opportunity to view the aesthetics and development of this modernist American photographer. Of the 140 prints featured here, many are familiar, while the more rare prints complete his body of work.
